Case Study

Dauntsey’s School Olive Building

The Challenge:

Designing and Installing a heating and ventilation system that has a low energy use as the site’s main heating fuel is LPG.

The project consists of a building with:

  • Heating plant,
  • Intelligent automatic windows
  • Electricity, gas and water utility monitoring

The Solution:

Priva Blue ID BMS System

Integration of the BMS with the Window Master system to enable full automatic control.

Integration of intelligent room sensor/controllers to monitor and control classroom temperature and CO2 levels by opening high level windows

Room controllers were installed with a traffic light LED system to notify the teachers when the low level windows will need to be manually opened for full effect of the natural ventilation.

History monitoring of room temperatures and CO2 levels by the client to verify energy efficient operation.

Remote interrogation of BMS control system to enable the site facilities & maintenance department staff the ability to monitor and adjust class room comfort conditions.

The Benefits:

Provision of a future proof open BMS system.

Low ongoing operating costs.

Reduced ongoing maintenance labour costs.
