Case Study

Gemini & Gateway House

The Project:

Berry Bros. & Rudd have a 300 year heritage. They were the first independent wine merchant to build temperature-controlled wine cellars, these cellars hold 8.5 million bottles of company and customers’ wine, worth millions of pounds.

The Solution:

We provided a full air conditioned, air handling unit and distributed air recirculation system that is controlled by an intelligent modular control system to maintain the very close tolerances demanded by the client throughout the storage facility. The environmental conditions are monitored and recorded and stored to ensure that they can be retrieved when needed and audited and verified historically.

The BMS selected was modular, plug and play and Hot Swappable to enable minimum down time in case of system failure.

Should any conditions go out of tolerance limit the BMS will provide alarms that are emailed to maintenance staff, alerting them of any problem.

The storage conditions are logged to provide historical evidence of temperature and humidity readings reaching back to the system’s initial installation.

The Supervisor User interface is web based to enable remote connection and interrogation of the facility at any time, day or night.
